Hospitality, the parks, hotels, restaurants, event work and healthcare all run on rotating shifts, split days and weeks that change with the season. Standard weekday appointments assume a life you may not have. Meeting by video removes the part that usually breaks first: you do not have to leave a shift early, cross town in traffic, or hold a parking window open. You need a phone, tablet or laptop and a private half hour. Irregular sleep and irregular eating are part of that work, and both feed directly into mood and concentration. When we look at what is going on, we look at the schedule too, because a plan that ignores a 4am call time is not a plan. That often means practical work on [stress and burnout](/stress-and-burnout) and on the [anxiety](/anxiety-therapy) that builds when you are always slightly behind on rest. ## New to the city, or new to the state - **Shift work:** Sessions by video, so therapy moves with a schedule that changes week to week. - **Nights and early starts:** Sleep, energy and focus get treated as part of the picture, not a side note. - **Recent arrivals:** Orlando draws people from other states and other countries. Starting over is its own kind of work. - **Seasonal peaks:** Busy stretches and quiet ones both leave a mark. We plan for the swing. A plan that ignores your actual week is not a plan. ## How the work is done I am Jason Versace, MA, LMHC, NCC, and I hold Florida license MH21235 through Psi Wellness, Inc. The work is solution focused and blended with CBT, ACT and DBT, which in practice means we name what you want to be different, then work on the thoughts, habits and reactions closest to it. To keep us honest about whether it is helping, I use short measures like the PHQ-9, GAD-7 and MDQ and we look at the results together rather than guessing.
